Abstract

We will present the results of a biographic research in which didactic book of Portuguese language and literature for secondary schools, published in Brazil, is analyzed as cultural objects, considering the Brazilian writer Carlos Drummond de Andrade. This study is theoretically and methodologically based on Roger Chartier, and its conclusion is that the cultural representations identified form the matrix for discourse and reading practices of interest to the didacticism of the world. Our research goes against erasing the dimension of practice (and, therefore, of activity) each reading includes, and will consider the proposition of other cultural objects, those which materialize less linear, monolithic and homogeneous representations of the world, thus subverting the hegemonic visions.
