Abstract

Introducing the audiobook as a support for the students’ literary education is the aim of this study. The audiobook, or spoken book, is little by little being discovered in Brazil. Data show that the reading competence is still fragile among Brazilian children and young people, and that the taste of reading literature is not a cultural data in our country yet. With the objective of attracting and arousing the interest of the students in reading, we included the audiobook in the methodology of work. Developed with students of a 5th grade of a municipal school, the project confirms very stimulating results and concludes that this new support can be used with success in classes of reading and literature. The proposal
attempts contact with several textual genres, printed and/or electronic, and propitiates new circumstances of reading, extending the universe of the Portuguese classes methodology beyond the support of the paper.
