This text discusses pedagogical practices in Portuguese classes and its interfaces with textual production practices carried out by students in the internet, taking into consideration how frequently they use these textual manifestations outside school contexts. We have brought these two realities closer, the school and the virtual environment, aiming for the development of discursive competences and student’s literacy. This research is based on school reading and writing practices in agreement with the influence of the new Information and Communication Technologies and in addition to the theoretical foundations of interaction research. Written productions from a group of high school seniors have been analyzed, both the ones guided by the teacher in the school environment, and the ones produced by the students on the social networking websites.
