Abstract
This work aims to analyze O espadachim de carvão (2013), by Affonso Solano. This book was nominated for High School by the 2018 Literary Didactic Book National Program, therefore, research activities are contributions to the readers’ formation. The paper was developed from the analysis of the book, having as theoretical basis the reflections presented by Frye (1973), Lukács (2000) and Bakhtin (2003) about the concept of bildungsroman. Bibliographical research is adopted as a methodology.
